Congratulations Bethan

I had taken my Promarkers into work a while back, & a friend (Carol) asked what I was doing, so she had a go at doing some "colouring". Well,Carol's daughter passed her driving test this week, so I made the image that Carol had coloured into a Congratulations card for Carol to give her daughter

I added some shading under the car to "ground" it, & finished the tyres off as I hadn't taken the greys in with me, but I think Carol did a pretty good job

Mojo returning?

This is the card I made for a friendship swap on the DC site. I have not had any inspiration recently, but sat down and looked through a few things to see what struck me. I found some Clarity clever corner stamps that I had been playing around & practising with a while back, these then inspired me to try a black, white and another colour card, so I set to & found this image which I thought would lend itself to this theme.
I chopped the corners into squares, then matted them onto red card & found some red ribbon (from last years sale at Crafty Ribbons). I added an appropriate Greeting Farm sentiment (which, if I am honest also hides the adhesive under the centre of the ribbon), & punched it out with a circular SU punch, and matted onto red & white card cut with a scalloped SU punch
Image coloured with Promarkers. I have been looking at various tutorials on colouring with Promarkers, & am quite pleased with how the shadow turned out on the skirt, though I do need to practise more

Playing with my Cricut

I was browsing Sue's (playingwithpaper) website the other day & saw some of her cards. I decided to have a go at making one of the cards she had made using SCAL & this is the result.
I used the same papers for both cards, but swapped the colours on the main front square to provide a contrasting source of interest.
These cards have been sent to my nephews who both turned 16.
Papers were a freebie from a magazine some time ago

First card using the Cricut

I've finally made my first card on the Cricut, using the font & shape from the SCAL library. This one was made for a colleague who is moving away from the area & will be greatly missed

The original idea was to sit her on the clover leaf, but it didn't look right, & I was running out of time to go to her leaving meal, so it had to do like this lol

Thank you for all your messages of concern re my daughter. She is much brighter today, though still tired & a bit forgetful with things which have happened recently. I am going to keep her off school tomorrow (especially as it's a mentally taxing day with the lessons she has tomorrow). I will send her in on Friday when it is a much easier day, inc cookery which she is looking forward to.

Incy!

Thank you for all the get well wishes for my daughter.
The school have been great & I managed to speak to her teacher by phone in my break at work, & I will (naturally) keep her informed of the situation, especially regarding what she can/cannot do when she is well enough to return. I am concerned about what she will cope with when using pcs & her concentration levels.

My middle daughter took her to the GP for me when I was at work today. He checked her out thoroughly, & said she must have someone with her at all times. She cannot watch tv, use a pc, read a book or do anything which involves her thinking, in order to rest her brain & allow it the opportunity to recover. Thank goodness for talking books! She is also not allowed to do anything other than sit, stand, walk, talk & sleep. If she is not better by Friday she has to go back too.

Anyway, onto my card for today. I had bought some new craft goodies before Christmas, & finally had the chance to have a play with some of it. The card was made for a wonderful lady who goes by the name "Incy" on the DC site.

Oh, for a return to normality

Hi everyone, hope you're all ok. I had hoped that life would be returning to normal after the busy time around Christmas. I was very lucky & managed to buy a Cricut from that well known auction site, & bought SCAL to use with it last weekend. I have spent the last week, playing with SCAL, finding out how to use it, & working on making a card for my nephew's imminent birthdays.

On Friday though, I yet again ended up in A&E with my youngest. She fell onto the back of her head in the break during panto rehearsals. They were very quick to ring me & I got there quickly. She was very dazed, dizzy, nauseous, & naturally her head hurt. When I got her home, she crawled up the stairs as she was too dizzy to stand upright. She then told me she could see two of everything & didn't feel good - so I decided to play safe & off we went. On the way to the hospital she was drowsy, developed a dislike of lights & her speech sounded slurred. We had a very long wait (they were very busy), but when we were seen she also said her neck hurt! They debated immobilising her, but decided it wasn't necessary & she was finally discharged in the early hours. Since then she remains very tired, dizzy & nauseous at times & doesn't like the lights being on. She seems ok in herself, but really isn't well enough to go to school tomorrow, but I will also consult our GP. Having lost my Father when he had a severe head injury, & nearly losing my sister (as a teenager) following a head injury, it's something I am very wary about, & really don't like head injuries.

Anyway, onto the card I had originally planned to post at Christmas. I really liked the design of this card, & made several varaitions of this design.

Nesties die used to make a mask, Foliage Big & Juicy ink pad brayered through aperture of mask, SU stamp stamped through aperture (using stamp positioner), Matted onto gold mirror card, then onto card.
I deliberately wanted to keep the card free from embellishments to make it cheaper to post them!
