Cards for work friends

Here are 2 cards I've made for work friends

The inspiration for this card came from a fellow DCer.
Image found on Google images.
Backing material given to me by the person who I made the card for lol
Coloured with Promarkers
Computer generated sentiment

This was made for someone who is emmigrating to Australia
I wanted it to have a simple but stylish feel, but then was worried that it had a funereal quality to it which is not what I wanted when she will be starting her newly married life!
Stamp - free with Craft Stamper
Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder
Anita's peel offs
Ribbon from Crafty Ribbons (fab company in Blandford).

More pink flowers

I made this card for a friendship swap I participate in on the DC forum

Since I can't resist making these flowers, I included them on this card.
Spotty backing paper , with a piece of purple mirri card which I put through a ribbler.
Tilda coloured with Promarkers.
Mats cut with nesties.

Taken from an angle to show the flowers in more of a profile view.

The tutorial where I first read the "out of frame" technique can be seen  here

VIP birthday #2 - from me

This is another fab Mo Manning image called "Checking Facebook",
ideal for my daughter, who is always on FB.
My daughter loves red, & her dressing gown is aqua.

I was in M&S the other day & saw some cream cakes on display. I stopped, did a double take & bought a box......................because I wanted the box to use on this card! Lol. I knew it was just what I needed to go with the aqua on the dressing gown. Put a piece of ribbon with it & voila!

(btw - the family appreciated the cakes lol.)

Close up of the image.
I use Ryman's bright white 200gsm card for my Promarkers, but this batch is not the same as usual. It's not as bright, or as smooth, & the Promarkers were bleeding on the card. I am very disappointed with it - I'm hoping I have a rogue batch & that it isn't a permanent change.
HOTP sentiment which I used on the inside of the card.

VIP birthday #2

Here is the card I made for my youngest to give to her sister for her birthday.
I love making these flowers - & you can always be sure they will match your card, since you use the same cardstock to make them. I'm very grateful to AngieBabe for telling me where to find the link for the demo.

What a fab image by Mo Manning this is - & just right for those who love Ugg boots

Image coloured with Promarkers.
Papermania backing paper.
HOTP sentiment
I used this sentiment on the inside of the card & stippled 2 shades of
red Distress Ink to colour the HOTP sentiment, but it appears pink here.

That mouse again!

I couldn't resist making another card with this cheeky chap.

This time I chose to mount the image on a monochromatic paper.

Mouse with Sunflower stamp by Tina Wenke.
Coloured with Promarkers, glazed with Anita's 3D gloss.
Yellow cardstock.
Papermania paper

Good things come to those who wade

I made this for a teenage boy
(excuse the shadow - photos taken at nighttime with flash)

To Catch a Big Fish stamp by Sugar Nellie.
Image coloured with Promarkers, glazed with Anita's 3D gloss.
All paper inc those used for matting are from Dovecraft Masculine pack.

Terrible shadow - sorry

Sentiment (repeated in varying shades) says:
Endurance and dreams are limitless, which I thought it was appropriate for fishing.

Sunflower Mouse

Isn't this little mouse cute?
I said I'd do some cards for the birthday box at work, so here is the first one I've made for them.
I'll do more when I have more time - wonder if I'll get one of them back when it's my birthday? lol
Tina Wenke (Stampavie) stamp cut out, coloured with Promarkers, mats cut using nesties, glazed with Anita's 3D gloss, Cuttlebug embossing folder. SU stamp & punches.

Making flowers experiment

I have been experimenting with a flower making tutorial I had been given, so naturally I had to make some cards for the resulting flowers to go on.

This card is going to someone who is always doing things for others, & is my small way of showing my appreciation.

Close ups of the flowers - they were so easy to make, but so effective.

It's hard to believe they are made from cardstock & a brad!
The tutorial can be found here

I am so lucky

I am SO lucky!
I had been helping a friend to make a scrapbook for her Mum's 80th birthday (who was thrilled with it)
The other day, my friend arrived with some gorgeous 12"x12" papers & a Princess Tilda stamp as a thank you present!!!! It wasn't necessary either, I helped her because it was a great project to make.
She knows the way to my heart lol.

I wanted to make a card for Sandra (aka Annette on DC forum) for her 50th & decided to use Princess Tilda for it.

Tilda coloured with Promarkers (so is card mat)
Kate Knight paper
Nesties used to cut mats
Flower made by spritzing silver Glimmer Mist onto Happy Bithday paper, 6 scalloped circles cut with Nesties, then scrunched up together
3 buttons painted with 3 layers of Silkies, then glazed with Anita's 3D gloss.

In between Migraines

I've had a bout of frequent & severe migraines lately which has reduced the amount of crafting I've been able to enjoy. In between migraines though, I have made this wallet card using some wonderful Inkadinkado clear stamps.

I bought some templates & silkies at the Bath & West show & tried them out on this card. The backing paper has diamonds on it, which add extra interest where they are visible through the areas where I sponged blue onto the paper through the swirls template. This seemed to match perfectly the atmosphere I wanted for this card & it's seaside theme.
I then stippled Distress Inks onto a piece of card, before stamping the lighthouse image onto the area I had masked off,  then glazed the white masked off area. I added the seagull/sentiment stamp to balance the card.

This is the inside of the wallet - I wanted to add interest inside, but
wanted to keep it quite simple, so opted not to colour it.

Gather Life's Little Treasures

I watched a lady demoing at  the Bath & West show the other week, this is my attempt at the technique she was demoing.
Area of card masked off & coloured using distress inks with stencilling brush (I didn't have one, so I cut a paint brush down!) Mask removed, image stamped onto card, then mounted onto appropriate backing paper.

Commissioned card for Willie

Hi everyone. This is a card which I was requested to make by Willie. The brief was that it had to be pink, have a cat on it & have the words Happy Birthday & 40 on the front, & the sentiment Think Pink. Willie chose the scene from a couple of selections & this is the finished card. Hope he likes it!

Stamping Up punch for detail at top of card. Computer generated sentiments.
Vase is glazed with 3d gloss, I am considering adding yellow gems to the flower centres.

Inside the card.
Clarity stamps, brayered background using Soothing Sunset Big & Juicy inkpad.

Close up of the scene inside the card.

The sentiment is on the back as it was not possible to put it inside due to the nature of the card.

FAO Willie

This is a special selection for Willie!

(Sorry for the glare from the camera flash & for the fact that the colours are a bit different as they were not taken in natural light)

Willie, I have made the inside of the card you asked for in 3 different ways so you can chose which you would like me to make the finished card with.
I have placed the design inside the window of the card, & placed the cat on the front, so you have an idea of what it may look like.
I was thinking of making a vase to put on the window sill with 40 on the vase - what do you think?
Also, I think the sentiment will have to go on the back of the card, as there will not be room inside - & it would be visible through the window.

Please let me know your thoughts, & if any of the designs is suitable & acceptable to you? No worries if not.
