A waterfall of cats

Made for Willie's birthday.

I was fairly certain that Willie would not have seen a waterfall card before

It's been a while since I last made one, but I remembered how to, although it took me a while as I had to keep resting my wrist. Foolishly, I didn't consider the size of the photos & then realised the card was bigger than I had intended, so I had no envelope for it to fit in, & ended up having to make one with 2 sheets of 12" x 12" lol

I know Willie misses George hugely, he has told me what a character he was.

Afterwards, I realised how alike they are, though that was not intentional

This is my cat Mia, who has been up to mischief in the last month & has seemed intent on using her quota of lives up lol

Reading on a wall

This wallet card was made for a DC'er, it takes me back to my days as a teenager when I used to spend time chatting to friends while sat on a wall - & the summers went on forever & were always hot lol.

Alternative remedy to Botox? lol

I made this for a very good friend who is always teasing me for being a few years older than her - revenge is sweet lol. Seriously though, it's just light hearted banter between friends, no malice is ever intended or taken.

I had been planning to use this image for the last year!

DCWV papers matted with white card. It was a bit fiddly cutting out the paper with my broken wrist, but I managed it (albeit slowly - as was the colouring!)

Nappy Cake (boy)

This is the nappy cake I made for my friend's newborn son.

Rolling all the nappies up was very painful, especially as I didn't realise my wrist was broken at the time.

My friend & her partner were thrilled with it, they had never seen anything like it before.

The baby clothes we found  in the shop were gorgeous,

& it was so hard picking just a few for the cake

When I had wrapped the whole cake up, I attached a list of the ingredients so the cake can be left assembled if the parents wish to.

Fractured wrist

Well, I can't believe that I have fractured my wrist!

I have had the summer holidays off with my youngest, & 3 weeks ago, I put my hand up to stop her doing something & she fell onto my right hand forcing it the wrong way. It was sore & I noticed that it was quite swollen  the next day, but I had full range of fine finger movements, could squeeze with my fingers, so I just carried on, even though it was painful to grip large things or to twist my wrist & I could only wave my hand if I kept my wrist fixed. I also noticed that I could hear a clicking noise when I rotated my wrist.

 On Monday I returned to work, but found stretching my fingers apart & picking up instruments hurt, so took myself to A&E after work, where I had an x ray & was given a wrist splint. Imagine my surprise today when the hospital rang me & told me not to take the splint off as I have fractured my wrist! Now I am not allwed to go to work until I have the all clear which I feel awkward about having just had time off for holidays.

I honestly thought I would have been in more pain. When I was in A&E I told them that I also had pain in my mid forearm, but they didn't x ray that area. I now realise that the clicking noise which I thought was coming from my wrist is actually coming from the upper area of my forearm - I think I should mention that when I have to go to fracture clinic next week!

Anyway, despite now being limited in my range of movements, (& I am very right hand dominant), I managed to make this for my friend's newborn son.

I had a new set of nesties which lent themselves perfectly to this Forever Friends stamp.

Teddy is from a piece of ribbon, coloured with Promarkers.

I found this image on the web a few years ago & the verse (sorry, I can't remember where). I love both of them & love to use them for a  newborn card.

I seem to be using this image a lot recently - probably to make it seem more summery, & as it will be out of season very soon, sorry if you've seen too much of it lately.

I bought some Nellie Snellen dies the other week, so naurally enough, I had to play with them. They are lovely, & cut such a detailed frame.
